Wednesday severe weather risk
MICHIGAN, USA — After damaging to destructive storms on Sunday, the clean-up process may be short-lived ahead of another round of strong to severe storms Wednesday.
We have issued a 13 Weather Impact Alert for Wednesday for the potential of another round of severe weather.
All modes of severe weather are possible yet again.
This includes damaging winds, hail, and even tornadoes.
A storm system similar to the one we saw on Sunday will move in on Wednesday.
A warm front will be lifting northward throughout the day, increasing the risk of severe weather in the afternoon and evening especially.
Quiet weather is expected into Tuesday though, giving West Michigan time to clean-up ahead of another round.

Next three days
Monday and Tuesday will feature a mix of sun and clouds and cooler temperatures in the 40s.
By Wednesday, a warm front lifts in-- causing a warmup throughout the day from the 30s in the morning to the 60s in the afternoon.

Severe weather risk
All modes of severe weather will become apparent, especially in the afternoon as warm and humid air stream in throughout the day.
The Storm Prediction Center has West Michigan included in a slight (2/5) and enhanced (3/5) risk of severe storms.

Severe weather outlook
This is all part of a big storm system that will bring a severe risk from the Great Lakes to the south.
The Ohio Valley specifically is all under the threat of damaging winds, hail, and tornadoes.

Severe weather outlook for WMI
West Michigan in specific is all under at least a slight risk-- a level 2/5.
However, Grand Rapids and the I-96 corridor southward is in an enhanced risk-- a level 3/5.
The greater concern right now is once again damaging winds, but hail and tornadoes are possible.
Very similar to Sunday's storm system-- with the area south of I-96 seeing the best chance of severe weather once again.

Precipitation forecast for Wednesday 8 a.m.
Wednesday will start cold in the 30s before the warm front noses in.
Because of this, north of I-96 could see a mix of snow or even freezing rain.
Brief impacts are possible with this early Wednesday morning before warmer air quickly ends this wintry mix.

Precipitation forecast for Wednesday 12 p.m.
The warm front by noon should be along I-96, so areas south of I-96 will be warming up with humidity rising too.
Widespread showers and storms will persist in the late morning to early afternoon along this warm front.
Meaning some ponding or localized flooding could occur as well should the storms "train"-- run over the same place repeatedly.

Precipitation forecast for Wednesday 3 p.m.
The severe weather risk increases during the afternoon, especially south of I-96.
By 3 p.m. our in-house model shows more thunderstorms, possibly being strong to severe.
These have the possibility of bringing damaging winds, hail, and tornadoes.

Precipitation forecast for Wednesday 7 p.m.
By 7 p.m. the strong to severe thunderstorms continue to move through the region, especially south of a Muskegon to Ionia line-- where the threat of severe weather is greatest.
As of now, the timeframe of concern is between 1 and 10 p.m. with the latest data.
The timeframe will become clearer as we get closer to Wednesday.
Regardless, this system looks to be a rainmaker for the area.

Rain forecast by Thursday 8 a.m.
Rain amounts will reach at least an inch for most.
Some of our higher resolution models are printing out the possibility of rain amounts exceeding two inches in the places that frequently see storms.
