Almost all of the boys from "Malcolm in the Middle" are returning for the DIsney+ revival, except one. According to Variety, Erik Per Sullivan, who played the young, musically gifted Dewey, will not be appearing in the revival. Instead, his part will be played by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark ("The Expanse").

However, along with the bad news came the good. Variety also revealed that Justin Berfield will be returning as Reese, the second son, and that Christopher Masterson will reprise the role of Francis, the first and oldest son.

There's also some brand new cast members announced for the family. Anthony Timpano ("A Score to Settle") will play Malcolm's younger brother Jamie, who is born in Season 4 of "Malcolm in the Middle."
Vaughan Murrae ("Before I Change My Mind") will play his younger sister Kelly. Kelly was never in the original series, but she was teased in the series finale when the coming of a sixth child is mentioned. Playing Malcolm's daughter Leah is Keeley Karsten ("Adult Best Friends").
The "Malcolm in the Middle" revival was first announced last December. At the time it was revealed Frankie Muniz was returning as Malcolm with Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek set to return as his parents. The official logline of the revival is "Malcolm (Muniz) and his daughter are drawn into the family's chaos when Hal (Cranston) and Lois (Kaczmarek) demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party."
Originally envisioned as a two-hour movie, the revival will instead be a four episode series.
"Malcolm in the Middle" lasted for seven seasons, winning 7 primetime Emmys during the run. The titular middle child is revealed to be a genuine genius with the IQ of 165 in the first episode, and the first few seasons revolve around an intellectual young boy living in a quite less-than-intellectual family. Malcolm regularly broke the fourth wall and addressed the audience directly. Later seasons brought in more family members to torture the ones who had become favorites of the audience.
It is likely the most well-remembered series of Bryan Cranston's career next to "Breaking Bad"; so much so that Kaczmarek came back to film an "alternate ending" to "Breaking Bad" in which the latter series winds up being one of Hal's bad dreams.
